SKYLINE/ CATERA & MANY OTHERS
FREE 103'S ((((TUNE IN))))
@ The New York Center for Media Arts
Saturday March 1, 2003
8pm-2am

SKYLINE, The Harsh House's deconstructive electronica improv enesmble will be performing NOISEOTICA QUEENS ACTION as part of (((TUNE IN))) a six hour festival involving over 60 musicians and sound artists. (((TUNE IN))) will take place on Saturday March 1, 2003, 8pm-2am at the New York Center For Media Arts 45-12 Davis St. in Long Island City, Queens.

free103point9's Tune(In))) will feature over 60 performers and a video program playing into six transmitters. There will be no sound in the space--performers play into transmitters instead of amplifiers. With the price of admission, attendees will receive a radio with headphones to access the performances. They will also receive a "schedule" listing what performances are on which frequencies throughout the evening. A more extensive catalogue with artist biographies and descriptions of performances will also be available. Attendees may choose to listen to the six Tune(In))) frequencies, other commercial stations available, or the minimal ambient room noise. Among the several performers that night: THE SCANNER, CHANGES TO BLIND, 31 DOWN, MATT MIKAS & TOM ROE.

Skyline improvisationally deconstructs groove based electronica. The group was formed in 1997 and has released two full length albums on the Harsh House label. They have just finished their third album and are also working on their own special versions of Bowie/ Lennon's FAME, which will be released as an extended dance single. Skyline last performed at a rave in NYC in 2000 when their plug was pulled by an upset "progressive house" DJ who couldn't deal with their trip.

SKYLINE will perform at 10:40 pm on 99.9 FM. Damian Catera will be sampling and algorithmically mutating other performers sounds throughout the nite on the same frequency.
